SARA WINFIELD 'ACHROMOUS STRAND'
TAGS: Sara Winfield, It's Now Cool, 140, Achromous Strand, Perth emerging artist,

After a small stint studying fashion design, Sara Winfield, an emerging Perth
illustrator and artist, gave in to the alluring and freeing nature that is painting.

Her collaboration with It's Now Cool and 140 saw the launch of her lastest exhibition,
'ACHROMOUS STRAND', exploring femininity, fragility and the dreaming
world that exists when we rest. The paintings and large scale illustrations look at
exposing females as objects of ethereal beauty; delving into the imaginary and
sensory realms of our minds. Saturated with pastel and watery hues, the works
seek to parallel directions in fashion and beauty. The amalgamation of colourless
hair, contrasted against neon and pastel hued garments, gives the 'girls' an
otherworldly energy, extending our minds towards ideas of detachment, aloofness
and our fascination with the dreaming world.

Exhibition viewings are by appointment only.
