Thursday, February 21 marked WA's night of nights with the 17th
annual West
Australian Fashion Awards. The black tie event celebrated WA's
ever expanding
fashion industry, recognising the most successful designers,
models, boutiques,
bloggers and creative artists, for notable achievements in their
respected fields.
Amoung the most celebrated were members from the 140 pop-up
family,
recieving 5 nominations across 4 categories and taking out 3
awards.

Volunteers have been integral to the success of the Perth
Fashion Festival since
it's inception 14 years ago. The retail wing of Perth's
one40william development,
140, has continued to offer support to PFF volunteers, working to
nurture creative
and talented minds through the 140 Work Placement Program.
The 140 Work Placement Program provides individuals with the
opportunity to
participate in a number of exciting work placement roles. The team
here at 140
are now on the lookout for third year marketing/public relations
students who
volunteered at the 2012 Perth Fashion Festival to fill two work
placement roles
in 2013. Applicants must be diligent, experienced, hardworking and
ambitious
self-starters who are looking to gain a unique insight to and
experience within the marketing industry.
Candidates should have a working knowledge of the retail
industry, preferably with
previous employment/work placement experience. Strong written and
verbal skills
are essential, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Excel,
Powerpoint, Outlook, and
Word. All applicants should be able to work at least 2 days
a week during
Semester 1 and/or 2 of 2013. Responsibilities include (but not
limited to):
-Monitoring press coverage/clippings
-Retail liaison
-Assisting with Events/Exhibitions/Photo shoots
-Social Media
-Marketing Research
-Marketing Campaign development
-Exposure to Advertising/Public Relations strategy &
meetings
-Exposure to the property marketing plans, redevelopment program,
budgets etc.
-General administrative duties
