The 140 Hearts WA Creatives fashion show we presented as part of
Perth Fashion
Festival 2011 went off with a bang thanks to WA DJ Will Slade who
played
exclusively released tracks by some of WA's finest bands and set
the mood of our collaborative affair.
The show was a collaboration of WA creatives like no other.
Fashion merged
with music and music merged with styling, as 140 stylist Marcia
Ball combined
custom made high end accessories, designed by some of WA's most
sought
after designers, with high street 140 retailer looks.

The looks presented to those lucky enough to attend showed
how to take catwalk ready pieces from runway to reality.
Everyone
knows that true style is about mixing designer labels with high
street
and lower price-point fashions and the 140 show was a perfect
example
of how to make this happen.
Spotted in the audience were West Australian Fashion Editor Pip
Christmass,
Simon Fasolo of popular WA band End of Fashion with WA designer
girlfriend
Anna Excel by his side as well as all 4 members of emerging
pop/rock act,
The Witches complete with publicist in tow. The Witches were there
to
open the show with the official launch of their debut single 'I
Thought I Saw A Ghost'.
Models strutted out to the track in nomadic looks in a mix of
totally neutral
or completely dark grey hues wearing 140 retailer looks with
pinchandspoon
neck-pieces designed exclusively for the show by Isobel
Macaulay.

of

Fashion.

After Macaulay, appeared the work of 2010 Fine Details
Award winner,
jewellery designer Alister Yiap. Yiap showcased his
signature
out-of-the-ordinary statement runway pieces such as silver
wings,
and metal back plates as well as some new commercial pieces
including earrings and cuffs which were also all custom-made for
the
show and an obvious crowd pleaser.

The collaboration between Bunbury designer Genevieve
Daley and
140, fostered by 140 stylist Marcia Ball was the final designer
display
for the show. Daley's obvious flair for colour with her
individual
accessories in the form of head-pieces, neck and wrist
straps
complimented the styling of the SS 11/12 trend of colour blocking
in
almost fluro brights.

THE DIFFERENCE IS
140
140 is dedicated to supporting WA creatives and on Friday 23rd,
Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th September at Fashion Central in
Perth's GPO Building - we will show you how.
The 140 Hearts WA Creatives fashion parade as part of Perth
Fashion Festival will pair the custom-‐made creations of three
exciting WA designers with 140 retailer garments on the catwalk for
an exclusive showcase.
Western Australian Fashion Awards 2010 winner, Alister Yiap's
designs will feature in the parade alongside Pinch and Spoon
designer Isobel Macaulay's work as well as emerging South West
designer, Genevieve Daley's label Unsunk Funk.
The show styling will reflect key trends in street and urban
wear for Spring/Summer 2011/12 with a focus on pop hues in almost
fluro brights. There will be a touch of glamour for those more
inclined to dazzle the balmy summer nights away, as well as looks
that compliment the designer's custom made creations, made
exclusively for 140.
Mix high street with high end and take your cue from parade
looks that can be taken from runway to reality. All 140 retailer
items are available for purchase right after the show at 140.
